Happy Holidays and Welcome...
To A Bridge For Friends, Inc. our nonprofit was created by a group of friends and teens that wanted to give back and make a difference in this world. We are simply a group of “People Helping People”
This is a wonderful time to say a warm thank you to all our donors. It is our favorite time of year to donate to our patients or their families. We pay their bills direct and it offers so much relief off of daily burdens. It’s not too late to get your year-end donations to us at abridgeforfriends.com.
Our year is ending with the gift of giving... Our mission is to be a source of comfort and relief. We help pay to provide immediate relief of day to day burdens such as transportation to treatment, utility bills, food and medical equipment rentals.
We at A Bridge For Friends, Inc. know that we all have choices. We believe we can all make the choice in our hearts to leave the world a better place. We know that we can make the one difference in a person's life and that giving always brings something wonderful back.
Our latest project to date was designed and created by our board member Debbie Buehner. It is called "Laps of Love" and is Debbie’s personal project. Debbie, who herself has suffered a tragic loss, has decided to warm up a seriously ill patient or their spouse or their caregiver with her hand made lap quilts. If you would like to join Debbie's team and donate a homemade lap quilt or blanket please email us and Debbie would love to guide you. She has made a huge difference moving forward and leading this project in her husband Tim's name. We are blessed and look forward to this being one of our biggest projects ever. We are forever grateful to Debbie Buehner at A Bridge For Friends, Inc. **** Contact us if you have a handmade blanket to donate we have many patients in need....it’s a wonderful time of year to give and a difficult time of year for our patients and families. ***
An extra special thank you goes out to Stitches From The Heart Ocean Hills chapter for their hundreds of homemade blankets and caps.
Thank you for allowing us to make a difference in the world around us. It’s easy to help someone else in a very simple affordable way. Our Warm Soles community service project was started in 2011. Debra and Korina Day along with Gwen Meitchik of La Costa and her daughters Annie and Katie have helped lead this amazing project at La Costa Meadows elementary school, Temple Solel, and Belmont Village senior home...
After having my own teen daughter in the hospital last year, she shared that she was in need of fuzzy socks to keep her warm while in critical care. We decided to start "The Warm Soles Project". We are going into the community and packing up warm socks for the teens that are ill, homeless that are ill and many others in need of comfort and warmth. The packages include beautiful and sweet messages from our local kids...kids helping kids and from our seniors!! .
It’s been an exciting year with our time with the seniors and watching them engage in our outreach programs. They have taught us so much more then we've taught them. It is always a gift to us all working with the community..... We are thankful to the high school teens that have jumped on board our cause and have expanded each of our ongoing projects.
We are all about Paying It Forward and People Helping People!!
Please contact Cindy at 714 732-9119 to order a beautiful gift box of homemade cookies with your personal message to send.
